Cane is functional, but less comfortable than I hoped. I will stow it in my car as a 'just in case I forgot my preferred cane'. I was hoping to like it more as an aid following total hip replacement. I can walk without it, but i was advised to have one over the next year as i recover fully. Price was reasonable. Shortest length is a little too tall in spite of my measurements too. Stability and sturdiness are not up to my expectations. 5'5", 120lb Meh.This cane is great. I haven't had any issues with it collapsing which is always a concern with folding canes. The grip is very nice to use. This is a super comfortable grip, and very sturdy cane. My only complaint is that it's just a little too tall even at the shortest setting, so it isn't good for a lot of walking. That's my fault for not checking that it gets short enough before purchasing, though. If you're short, make sure to check the length before buying. It's useful for getting around the apartment or taking a few steps though.I used it specifically to board the plane. It folds small enough to put in carry on and ready when I deboardI had purchased this HealthSmart Folding Walking-Stick in 2016 and I LOVED it. Yes, the "gel" handle had rubbed off in places and it did get permanently dirty in some spots; there were a number of scratches in the "subtly sparkly" lovely lavender paint surface, which were eliminated with an enamel spray paint (sadly not the same Lovely Lavender) ; it was a bit bowed from using it to prop open doors, leveraging heavy packages over steps or into vehicles; and once it saved my leg from being crushed when the car door flew closed but was stopped by my faithful "stick" (I don't use a cane, I use a STICK.) Sadly, my faithful Lovely Lavender HealthSmart Folding Walking-Stick was left on the plane trip across the country last week. I was so unhappy! I had looked for a replacement over the years, usually after each major "incident." But I could never find one in the stores. Other brands either had handles that were too HARD, the folding mechanisms were difficult or not useful for a person with strength or grip problems, it wasn't height adjustable enough, or it was clumsy and poorly balanced (think a barbell compared to a batton). BUT... Happily, I found my Lovely Lavender HealthSmart Folding Walking-Stick here on Amazon! It arrived yesterday, and I'm thrilled to once again have a Walking-Stick that is not only beautiful (for at least the next few years), but also fills all my needs. If you only want a cane to toddle from one chair to another, I'm sure you can find one. But if you're looking for a ROBUST Walking-Stick (no I don't do trail hikes with it,) that is easy to fold and unfold,(my 3 year old grandson can fold and unfold mine quickly without pinching his fingers), fits compactly in just a few inches of horizontal or vertical space (think: the pouch in front of your airplane seat,) and will last for years; then you will surely enjoy this sturdy, comfortable, colorful, and well designed Walking-Stick. I recommend the HealthSmart Folding Walking-Stick! And so....I give it my first "5" star review. It is a good every day cane.I bought this folding cane because I am having cochlear implant surgery in a few days and I will for sure be off balance and a bit dizzy as I recover. I have used canes in the past due to being off balance and when I had a bad ankle sprain and really didn't like them. I chose this one because I liked the color and the fact that it folded down so I could take it anywhere without it being a hassle. It comes in a plastic carry bag but I replaced that already with a different drawstring bag. The cane has a slide on thing that holds it together when it is folded. Not the best method (I prefer a Velcro strap.) but it works. It easily unfolds and snaps into place. Only takes a few seconds. It has adjustable height and the handle is very comfortable. There is a wrist strap on the handle to help you keep it in your hand if it slips or starts to drop. I used the cane twice to see how sturdy it was and it was quite stabilizing. I wouldn't use this if I had to put the entirety of my weight on it for long periods of time but it's great as a balancing cane to lean on if I need some help. The color is a deep lilac and purple is my favorite color so that is a personal plus. Might as well have a pretty cane if you are going to use one! I like it a lot. I bought a sturdier and ugly four pronged cane for right after surgery when the dizziness and imbalance will be the worst but this is one I will carry with me all the time. It folds up compactly and works well. I hope I don't need it too often but I feel safer just knowing I will have it and can easily unfold and use it when needed.I would definitely recommend this walking stick. I bought it as I need to use sticks for several weeks after surgery. It has a solid feel, which gives me confidence with my walking, and the colour makes me smile. The grip is just brilliant, very comfortable on the hands compared to my other stick which has a hard handle. And the best bit is that the rubber coating on the handle means it doesn't slip and fall when you prop it against something while you are seated. Altogether very good value for money. Do check the height before you buy, however. It is adjustable, but 33in is the minimum and may not suit anyone who is petite.Bought this walking stick as I have arthritis in the hip. I personally like the colour because I wanted it to look fashionable as I am still fairly young. However the paint has become chipped in places where it folds but I guess to be expected from wear and tear (4 months?). I like the comfort of the soft grip handle, again personally I prefer to use it back to front like a crutch handle for the comfort of my hand. It is light weight so I can carry it in my ruck sack as I don't need it all the time . You would need a reasonable size hand bag if you want to put it away. Very quick & easy to assemble but you need strong hands to pull apart when folding away. This could prove tricky if you have arthritic hands. This however proves that it is strong & gives great support. This plastic clip that keeps the stick folded can be easily lost if not careful. I am pleased with this product and would recommend this walking stick as it is strong and can adjust in height for your needs.I love the colour, and the handle is very comfortable.... i also like the positioning of the wrist strap, but it is a tad heavier than my previous stick and it does clack a little when you are walking. However the colour makes me feel better about having to use a walking stick.it does its job and was speedy delivery, I use it a lot and I have a purple one too, only given it 4 star as it appears o be sparkly in the picture and it not got much sparkle at all the flecks are tiny and only see if close up but im liking the coulour and style esp as im only 34 and use sticks for neuromoto reasons so its nice to feel youthful and bit of me rather using hospital boring ones or feeling old, and the soft grip is lovely on my hand. thank you xxThis is a really nice walking stick. It is lightweight, a really lovely colour with a slight glitter effect running through it & the rubberised handle is really comfortable & doesn't slip when it's damp like many handles do. All in all, a great buy!
