I love the variety of foods in these packs. The baskets are a nice additional and versatile for playing. My favorite thing about these play foods is the material they are made of. It's plastic so they are safe for throwing around and won't break or hurt anyone, but they're rubbery so they feel soft and not like cheap plastic.I did a ton of research to find the best play food and whoa it’s been exhausting! Felt like I needed to take time to write this review for moms like me that are spending wayyyyyyy too much time trying to find decent toys for their babies! Lol anyway, I kept coming back to this brand because I liked how they looked in pictures and there were so many positive reviews. What kept me on the fence so long were the negative reviews that complained about strong smell. Well I’m here to tell you there’s NO SMELL at all!!! I don’t know where people are getting that from and I’m super annoyed that I almost didn’t buy these because of those reviews! This play food is bomb.com and I will definitely be buying more in the future! Love the feel and size; perfect for little toddler hands. Definitely the quality I was looking for! Anyway look no further, Mommas! I highly recommend!I still have all my sons fisher price and little tikes play food from when he was younger. 23yrs later and, short of a little discoloring on white pieces, it has survived my son, his friends, my friends kids, kids I babysit for and my nieces and nephews. I bought these sets to just add a little more variety to my sons old little tikes kitchen set.The sets are cute and the food seems durable but the food sizes are all over the place. The most jarring of the food is the size of the bread pieces, some of the brown food pieces are just way to dark a brown to look real, no decal on drink box and some foods have really good detail to them while others are just plain and forgettable. It's almost like 2-3 different companies are making different pieces and then being put together into these food sets.1: Breakfast set: The cereal is cute, a good size and has great detail to it. Yogurt, banana, egg, orange juice and cantaloupe are cute and a good size. Orange juice would look better with a bit more detail on top...maybe some ripples? Cinnamon bun, bagel and pancakes are small but they may have been designed to be the bite sized versions. The pancakes are really, really plain! The strawberries and blackberries seem to be huge but that's just because the bread is soooooo small and the bagel, pancakes and cinnamon bun are bit sized. The strawberries are slightly big but I think that's more to keep them from being a choking hazard to kids and when put next to my sons old play food fruit they fit right in. I added some comparison pics to the fisher price bread and the little tikes pancakes and a basket full of old the fruit mixed with the new.2. Lunch: Once again the bread is just way to small. The orange, apple pieces, milk and sandwich meat, cheeses, lettuce and tomato are all wonderful. Could have added a little more detail to the tomato soup and a decal on one side of the juice box would have wonderful. Aside from the bread size, my biggest issue with this set it the dog poo looking pretzels and odd looking chocolate chip cookie. Amazingly the sandwich fixings all fit on the bread pretty nicely but a sandwich that takes one bit to eat is just to small lol. I've added comparison pics of the little tikes pretzel and fisher price cookie, and how cute a nice decal looks on bottled/boxed drinks. The first thing my 3yr old niece said when I opened up the lunch set was 'Auntie, eww puppy poop" so I probably won't be keeping the so called pretzels in the kitchen lol3. Dinner: My 1st complaint is why a bowl and not a plate? I have never eaten steak(maybe a pork chop) or chicken in a bowl before lol This set is my favorite of the 3. The steak/pork chop could have used a little more detail but it's okay as is. The corn is super small and the broccoli is pretty large, almost like it's a whole head instead of being more bit sized to fit on plate with the meat and potato to make a meal. Added comparison pics of the fisher price corn and broccoli/cauliflower heads. The sets are cute and my niece and nephews will enjoy the update in food to the kitchen set but considering all the weird sizes and the lack of consistent detail on all the items in each set I will be highly selective if I ever decide to buy another learning resources set again. I will say the sale price for the 3 combined sets is a far better deal then buying each set separately. My kids absolutely love the play food with their kitchen .Preschool teacher here! Generally I really like Learning Resources products and I have bought many over the years. So when I purchased a play kitchen set for my children/new home daycare and I was looking for food to place in the kitchen I knew I wanted to try this set. I have bought play food for my classroom before. the sets that come with a million pieces tend to be cheap and flimsy, not lasting long. the wooden sets, like Melissa and Doug, you’d think would last a long time, but kids are rough and the paint and edges wear away looking junky after a while. They certainly last longer than others, but I also don’t feel like they are overly usable when pretending to cook or serve food. This set seems very usable and allows children to be creative while also making believe in a more “real” way. I like the variety of foods and the presentation as well. I like the already ‘full’ cups of milk and juice. I like the bowls of cereal and soup. But there are also foods that have individual components for building things like a sandwich or a salad or a hamburger. It makes this set very flexible for creativity. My concern, and hence only 4 star rating, is the longevity of some of the pieces and the ability to effectively clean some of the items. There are several fruits or vegetables that are hollow and relatively squishy; they have air holes, sort of like a bath toy would. I am afraid that when cleaning these pieces water will enter the hole and won’t come out. Equally likely if a small child puts it in their mouth saliva could enter the hole, which is worse. I am contemplating sealing the holes, but I am also afraid that will make them more prone to breakage. These are not inexpensive toys and I would like to get as much longevity out of them as possible.Overall, I am very pleased with this food set. I will update after I clean the aforementioned pieces. My 4 year old daughter loves this set! I got it for her for Christmas and she loves sorting and playing with everything. She loves setting up meals and making sure everything is in its correct basket. Definitely buy this!!Bought this for a friends daughter, and now got a set for my own son. The quality and detail in the food is worth this purchase for sure.. I’ve seen other companies offering maybe more food choices and pieces in a set, but the quality is no where near as good as this one. This gives a lot of basic foods, and includes all 3 meals! Was very skeptical about the price. I bought for my 20 month old daughter for Christmas. The food is well made and of really good quality. My LO thought it was real and got upset when she could not eat it. Great buyGreat product. Definitely worth the extra money to get realistic looking foods that are robust and will last a long time. This set has a good range of foods, though a few duplicate items and not many vegetables. I bought them for my 12 month twins and six months on they still love playing with them and they play differently now as they imaginations develop and will continue to do so for many years I am sure. These foods look as though they will last at least that long, probably longer. They haven't been damaged by chewing or being dropped at all.Absolutely brilliant! Really durable and the children love playing with them.A quality product that looks and feels realistic. It withstands chewing - keeping its appearance perfectly. Size and colours perfect too. Promotes endless imaginative play. Bought for my 12month old granddaughter and I expect it will be a favourite toy for years and years ahead. These are great and very realistic. Great for a child who loves to play at cooking.WOW! Better quality than I expected! Yes, the price point is a little high, but as mentioned by others, this is one of the best play food sets out there. Made of heavy duty, flexible (rubberized) plastic. Will last through all your kids (and then some!) If you're unsure like I was, don't be afraid to take the leap of faith and buy these. You will be pleased :)Here's What you Get:Dinner Set (18pcs)1 Basket, 1 Steak, 1 Grilled Chicken, 1 Glass of Milk, 1 Asparagus, 1 Baked Potato, 1 Corn on the Cob, 1 Ice Cream Sandwich, 1 Pineapple Ring, 2 Cucumber Slices, 2 Tomato Slices, 3 Lettuce Leaves, 1 Bowl, 1 BroccoliLunch Set (18 pcs)1 Basket, 1 Bowl of Soup, 1 Juice Box, 1 Glass of Milk, 3 Pretzels, 1 Orange, 1 Lettuce Leaf, 1 Tomato Slice, 2 Slices of Bread, 2 Slices of Cheese, 1 Salami Slice, 1 Cookie, 2 Apple SlicesBreakfast Set (16 pcs)1 Basket, 1 Egg (sunny side up), 1 Glass of Juice, 1 Berry Cluster, 1 Cinnamon Roll, 1 Banana, 2 Strawberries, 2 Pancakes, 1 Cereal in Bowl, 1 Yogurt, 1 Cantaloupe Wedge, 2 Slices of Bread, 1 Mini Bagel
